cheap, looked decent, and decent gas milage.

Got what I paid for.

I have LOVED the looks since the GK came out. I was at a Hyundai dealer in late summer 2002 with a friend who was buying a used Sonata. They had a 2003 carbon blue GT on the floor. I couldn't keep my eyes off of it. I sat in it and just fell in love.

In 2006, I was looking for a car and ended up purchasing my '03 GT. I had that for just under 2 1/2 years when some idiot made a left at an intersection where you can't make any turns and totaled my car. I couldn't give up on the tib, so I purchased an '06 GT Limited in Oct '08.

I will probably end up getting a 2008 GT Limited in a couple of years........LOL

I want to say I owned the GK, then the F/L and the F/L2....that would make my Tiburon experience complete and then I will move on from there.

I started with a 1989 Mazda 626 Hatchback (really rare car). I fell in love with four door hatchbacks. After having the transmission blow out twice I had to get a new car. So I got a 2001 Hyundai Elantra GT Hatchback for $5,000 back in 2006. One thing that sold me was that it had a lot of cargo space for such a small car, amazing handling, and a top bike rack that I took complete advantage of (Since I ride flatland and know a lot of people who ride BMX). After having it for over three years, I feel I need a change. I need something with more horse power and sporty. The reason why I want to get one in the future is because it is a 2 door hatchback (enough room for just my bike and I), reasonable horse power (if I decide to go for a V6), the ability to mod it to over 300 hp, cheap, fwd (because I can't see how I could drive that new Genesis in heavy rain or snow lol), and have decent gas mileage. It is perfect for me and my lifestyle. Can't wait to get one =P

just for the sporty looks and they are pretty rare to see around here especially the v6's, coz they are overpriced overhere (12000 euro for a v6 2002 all options except leather)
its gasmilage suckedand was way underpowered

Its funny. I remember seeing ads in april 2003 for these when i was 12 thinking damn... thats a sexy car.
Didnt think that only like 4 years and a few months id be driving one.

Originally was looking at a rsx type s but it was just to pricey. looked on craigslist and found this decided to check it out. I had checked out before it a 2001 eclipse gt and like a 1996 integra gsr and wasnt really settled. as soon as i sat down in the tib and turned on the ignition, i had my mind set.

Just thinking about when i first got it gives me butterflys ha

Wanted a sporty looking ride w/o spending 30k+. The 10yr/100k powertrain warranty didn't hurt either. Also easy to personalize w/ a few cosmetic mods. With a State Trooper living right across the street from me, I didn't really need great 0-60 times anyway ;-(

Cuz its a sexy looking sports car! And everyone else drives a honda. So I dared to be different!

So basically what happened was I was sleeping, and God came to me in a dream and was all like, "Mike, you need to get a Fcukin Tiburon like this week, and I was like really? and he goes yea dude you need one, then go on the forum site NT and they'll show you the way," So I was like ok God.

And thats about it :3_pimatyo

LOL italia.
i was 16, and it was my first car, and originally i'd been pretty darn set on a 06 Si. then, i went into my little "sports compact" phase where i wanted a 240sx...even looked at an 04 RX-8 for 13k, but my parents were adamant about me getting a new car so that they wouldn't have to always be doing maintainence. so the closest RWD new car that was relatively cheap was the genesis...and it was $1000 less than the Si with 10 more horsepower and factory turbo'ed. i became a hyundai fan then. i'd always been a fan of most korean stuff, like their bboys and martial arts stuff and pen tricks...then my dad lost his job. my budget allowance went *ppt!* and basically, all but kicked the bucket. so i go to see the genesis 2.0T one last time, and the dealer talks my parents into looking at the tib. i'm skeptical at first cuz i don't really like the celica style slot in the front bumper of the 08, but then my dad and i tested one out. a i4 one, and it was like i stepped into another world. 2 days later, my parents filled out the paperwork, and we brought the tibby home for 12k, a black pearl one. and ever since, it's become my baby. the steering weight was great, the car just felt like it was eager to get moving. the warranty didn't hurt either.

though, most of my friends drive far better performing cars (i.e. 06 RSX type-S, Subaru 22B, BMW M3, 04 STi, 98 Eclipse GSX) i love the tibby because it's just such a sexy little thing, and besides, my girl liked it.

Tiburons ftw

My brother wasn't into imports anymore, so he handed it down to me. I loved it ever since I started learning how to drive stick in it. It's got that thick V6 roar and looks like no other comparable car. I always root for the underdog, which is the tib's place and I just can't stand Honda heads. I get compliments even with a huge dent in it.
