Well, my car is a little closer to being complete this week, but unfortunately I haven't had enough extra time to work on it, with all my other obligations.

The car runs and drives fine, but there is some sort of vacuum leak that I haven't been able to isolate, so it has this persistant high idle issue. I thought I had it taken care of when I got the new upper IM installed, but apparently that was only part of the problem. My friend works in a shop, and he's going to bring by his smoke machine some night, to help me figure out where the leak is.

There's an exhaust leak from the flex joint in my Hotshot headers, so I'll have to weld in a new one. I also need to install a new O2 bung for my wideband sensor; I'm running a new crankcase evacuation system which draws the crankcase vapors out the exhaust, and I don't want to run the risk of contaminating the sensor.

I have decided to build a new auxilary wiring harness, complete with a fuse block and relays; the one I have been using is OK, but it looks like crap after years of adding extra electrical stuff one piece at a time. Also, I need to clean up the underhood wiring harness, which is beginning to come apart after all the engine swaps and exposure to oil.

I have a nice, solid 22k mile engine in the car now. The place that sold it to me fogged the crap out of it with fogging oil before they pulled it, which eliminated the cracked compression ring issue that I had run into with the dud engines (I still oiled the hell out of all 6 cylinders and primed the oil pump before I attempted to start it). I pullied the supercharger back down to 10 lbs (for now), and replaced the faulty alcohol injection nozzle that was causing the car to lean out unexpectedly. I may have NGM build me a Budget Racer long block this summer; I have saved the original engine for my car as a builder.

I'm talking to TC about getting one of his Icebox heat exchangers for my intake manifold. I'm trying a custom IC setup this year, with a huge trunk mounted resevoir. My supercharger is also going out this spring for porting, and to have the rotor pack recoated...one of Johnny's GTP buddies works with the Eaton S/C's, and I'll be able to get it all done locally, which really helps. These two things should really drop the air charge temps dramatically.

I'm also experimenting with a 25 shot nitrous setup for intercooling purposes...there's a Zex dry kit with a bottle heater going on the car, but it won't be used for the time being because I don't have a window switch yet. I already have all the other supporting nitrous mods in place. I'll try it out once I'm confident in my tune.

The plan is to just run the quarter shot for now, and crank it up later, once I have a built lower end in the car. My original 10 lb setup was 285 whp....I should (hopefully) see close to 300 this time around, with all the improvements. Nitrous should take me up to 320 whp at 10 lbs, and will give me the option of cranking it all the way up to 400 whp, once I have a lower end that'll handle it. 400 whp is my goal with this car; I think even 350 whp would be terrible to handle on the street.

Anyway, that's where I'm at with the car.....the minor issues, wiring, tune, etc. should be finished in a few weeks, at which point I can start driving it again. The S/C work, nitrous system, and IC setup will be completed over the spring months, and hopefully I can get that built engine swapped into it sometime this summer.

So how have you guys been coming along on your cars? I see there's some new local guys that I haven't met yet, and it looks like Justin finally gave up on the Skunkmobile ;-)

Anyone good with audio and wiring willing to help me hook up my audio system, or anyone want to help me do clear corners and rickna's anytime fog plus angel eyes? how bout myrear strut bars or underdrive pulley? yeah...I need some help im an install newb......

dam kelly! Lot's of projects I see. Most of my time has shifted from tib projects to house projects now. Im sure with having the interceptor and a baby your project time is even thinner. Glad to see you're still goin' at it though.

Josh, I'd be glad to help, but I've got a few weddings and other "weekend-stealers" coming up. If you want I can give ya tips and help on here though. What does your audio system consist of?
 
im thinkin the audio system will be done professionally(best buy($400 or custom shop=$700 not sure which ill go for tho)...but the other mods i need help with haha....I can wait if ud be willing to meet up otherwise any pointers would be great!!!!

How custom of a job is it? What hardware do you have? What have you done already?
 
not to custom, got a custom sub box with 2 amps 2 subs, then 6x9's and components
I want to hardwire my radar in so it turns on when i start the car but not plugged into the cig lighter....uhm....yea thats what im lookin at, plus dynomatting it i think

so the amps and subs are already mounted? And the radar detector you can wire it pretty easy. You can go to the back of the cig lighter, or wire in a new circuit from the fuse box. Running the amp wires are pretty easy too. I ran mine along the door sills and the fender to the battery.

nope there were subs back there before but they got ripped out...so all i have is amp wre for 1 amp and sub wire for the old p1's but nothing is set at all for the new setup....

Yeah that's true..... I had to prioritize after my son was born. I'm selling my CVPI and my bike, and getting down to just the Tiburon.
 
Im also looking to hardwire my radar detector in. I want to have it sit up by my mirror but dont want the cord handing down in the middle like a douche bag. Anyone know of a good Ignition on 12v power line to tap into near the sunroof or run a line from the fuse box up the A pillar?
 
kelly you wouldnt be willin to trade ur bike for my sled would you? Im dyin for a Bike idc what it is I just really want one if youd be willing to trade it?

I could do the install stuff and the custom box, Those custom shops charge you a friggen arm and leg for that ****... its ridic, I don't know if I'd feel confident enough to do the figerglass right now cause I haven't done it for... 3 years? My poor tibby hasn't had anything done to it except for the safcII... I remember that night like yesterday when I installed that ****er... that was interesting.. almost done with my 2 year degree though so half done... I might be getting a job as a car saleman, lol.. at walser buick, I got a buddy who works there so if that happens and I'm actually good at ripping people off, I might try to start doing stuff to muh tibby again, I still wanna put the nitrous on it. Can't wait to see the car Kelly, that things gonna be extra nuts now, we'll have to roadtrip it to cordova again =p
