You two must be in sync - you each seem to be able to understand what the other is talking about, whereas I can't begin to keep up with either of you at least half of the time. Not even at the dinner table.

What's poppin in dis hood

morning ladies,

and am talking about re-charging the compressed air tanks for our paintball guns.
they need to be filled to 3000 psi
Definitely would need more than a bicycle pump to recharge them. I see a lot of the newer tanks are 4500psi. Don't know where you could get a compressor that would do that. Must be somewhere in town that you can have them refilled, no?

Regular shop type air compressors like mine and your dad's and service stations, auto repair shops generally top out at about 200psi. None of them would do what you want. I'm looking for sources.

I belive paitball guns are meant to be charged with nitrogen not air.
Usually you rent a bottle of nitrogen from a welding place or whatever and it comes at about 4500 psi... as the tank goes down, you need a pump to take it from 2500 psi to your 3000 psi... that's where you need the compressor
We sell air driven compressors that will do it... but they sure as **** aint cheep..... we're talking upwards of 4-5 grand even with my discount.

ya i've been looking thinking c02 will be the way to go. i found a couple for 500 they are specific to paintball but even that isn't worth it.

and compressed air and nitrogen both work in paintball guns.
and are interchangable.
the guns i've got are c02 or compressed so i'm good to go no patter what

The paintball places like the one on 50 Street have the equipment to refill the cylinders - most charge $5.00 per fill of compressed air. If each cylinder is good for 100+ shots and a guy had say, three cylinders, that could provide a good day of shooting each other. Cylinders seem to cost in the $50.00+ each range.

each cylinder is more then 100 shot but ya.
but if you run out when your out there its a long trip for a refill
Yeah, and a couple more tanks at $50.00 each is a lot cheaper than a custom compressor at $600.00+. Ooops - looks like spare tanks could set you back $120.00+!

You can also get tanks refilled at Ponoka, Red Deer, Sylvan Lake and Olds for sure

They'res gotta be something we can jerry rig!!!!!!
I bet you can rent a large tank of nitrogen for say $100 bux or so (plus $100 depost for the bottle) and that would fill your tanks for a LONG time before it got below the pressure you needed.....

Good plan! Where can we get it? Can use nitrogen in an air tank.? Defnitely worth looking into. One paintball place in Ponoka used to supply nitrogen only, due to the cost of the air compressor (only report on this place is several years old, so they may have changed now.)

Found a local supplier - will check on price tomorrow.

Note post 18356 - looks like extra tanks could run you $120.00+!

I belive you can rent the tanks from welding supply shops... the only reason i say nitrogen rather than air is because i think it's redily available from welding supply shops and i dont think bottled compressed air is...

Morning, children:

Compressed Nitrogen from OxyPro:
4500psi (don't carry 3000psi - next size would be 2100psi)
231lb (105kg cylinder)
Rental: $500.00 deposit, $90.00 per fill, $10.00/mon rental

Of course, you would need the necessary adapters to fill the tanks, and obviously you would need 4500psi capacity tanks(or a means of regulating the pressure during transfer), unless you can find a local source for nitrogen at 3000psi.

2100psi - purchase full cylinder = $451.00; to rent - $300.00 deposit, $50.00 per fill, $10.00/mon rental
