"Tuscani" origin?

I've had a Tiburon since April and I've always wondered where the name "Tuscani" came from. Is it like a nick name for Tibs or something? I see loads of NT members that swap the Hyundai logo's for Tuscani "T" 's... I feel like I walked into a party that I wasn't invited to! Someone enlighten me!

In Korea the 'Tiburon' is marketed as the Tuscani.

A simple Google search would have got you the answer :p

Yup tuscani is korea and canada......Coupe is in europe and tiburon USA
There is no differance between a tiburon and tuscani except for a few cosmetic changes such as interior cup holder,heated seats, badges, chrome exterior handles,metalic gas cap etc.....also the tuscani elisa is the 2.7

The name "Tiburon", meaning "shark" in Spanish, is the name given to the North American, Australian, New Zealand, South African, and Austrian production of the vehicle. It is known as the Hyundai Coupe in some European markets.[1]

It has been branded as the Tuscani (투스카니) andTurbulence (터뷸런스) in the home South Korean market."

That was out of the first paragraph on the Wiki page for the Coupe/Tiburon/Tuscani.
And the farther down towards the bottom:

"In Canada, a special edition of the Tiburon is sold as a "Tuscani edition"."

Nothing about the yellow color, but i think that may be right.

Yeah I have seen a yellow tuscani cruising around before. That makes sense. Also my tiburon is a GS-R, which is the equivalent to a GT. Is the GS-R a Canadian thing too? Don't hear much about GS-R around here, just GT.

GS-R is in fact a Canadian thing as well. In Canada, the GT is a 5-speed, while the GS-R is a 6-speed, and correct me if I'm wrong came with a couple extras.

Yes you are correct, GS-R was the V6 in 2003 with the 6spd. From 2004-2006 it was the tuscani and badged as such, but also included the upgraded brakes with red calipers if you bought the 6spd.

Other than "staff", most in this thread haven't been on here in 2-12 years....
