Alpine Manifold with NGM blower

I have a bit of a dilemma and need some input. I've been conducting an s/c build and I first acquired an Alpine manifold and now I bought an mp62 that was from an NGM kit. The blower came with the NGM tb adapter. My question is are the Alpine manifold and NGM blower compatible? I believe the snout sizes are different in the Alpine kits versus the NGM kits so I have a feeling these won't work together.

However, I was doing some research here and found this thread: http://www.newtiburon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=205475&highlight=alpine+stg3

It seems Martin had an Alpine manifold mated with a blower from an NGM kit. The photo of it installed appears to have an NGM tb adapter.

I'm not sure about that. I received my mp62 today and it matches up to the manifold just fine. The seller said the blower was from an NGM kit, and obviously I have an Alpine manifold. Will these work together? They fit fine. I was under the impression that the snout lengths are different on NGM vs. Alpine kits.

That snout sure does look shorter then my Alpine Mp62 but its impossible to tell for sure from some random pics. If you'd like, you can come check out my setup (In Upland) and you can measure and look for yourself. A simple measure mount of snouts would probably solve this issue.

Yes, no doubt it's shorter than the snout for an Alpine. I found a thread questioning the difference in snout lengths and Koreandude posted a schematic of the mp62. The snout, or "r-dim", on an Alpine is 6.25 inches. I measured the NGM to be 5 inches.

I don't consider this to be a loss, especially since I got the blower, plenum adapter, and a 2.8 pulley for only $50. I consider it a huge score. The add is probably still on craigslist. Got it from a guy in Utah. It appears to be in great shape. To top that off I got my manifold locally from a guy in Mission Viejo for only $100, and a 3.4 pulley from a guy in NY for only $25. So I'm not heavily invested into this build.

The way I see it, I have a couple of options. I could either hold out until I find a used NGM manifold, which could take years, but I am very patient and persistent, or I could contact Magnuson and see about getting a new snout to fit an Alpine.

Any thoughts or other options not considered?

Contact Magnuson and see if they can score you a snout for the Alpine manifold. I remember them not releasing the NGM snout because TC had some type of copywrite or protection on it. However, I don't think the Alpine is a problem to get because they went out of business and are no longer operating on this continent. lol Its worth a shot.

I've contacted Magnuson and they need to know the exact length of the snout that I need. Like I said a few posts up it has been stated that the lenght of the Alpine snout is 6.25 inches but I'd like to verify that. Can someone please post a picture of their Alpine snout with the measurement? Be sure to measure from where the snout mounts on the body to the center line of the pulley. I measured the NGM snout to be right at 5.0 inches. Can anyone please post a pic similar to this image?:

Magnuson doesn't sell a snout that is 6.25 inches in length, but they do have one that is 6.20 inches. Knowing that the Alpine pulley has a positive offset, meaning the pulley will stick out further, the measurements should be just over 6.20 near 6.25. @6spdSE I know you offered to have me come down there to measure but I'm not sure when I'd be able to.

PMed, I can shoot you the info/photo tomorrow morning if you can wait that long. Just don't have a tape on my at the moment. @PRIME might be able to help you out.

I was just reading through this entire thread and was about to go outside and measure my snout 'til i got to the last post. Glad you got it all sorted out.

I dug up some photos of both manifolds. you can see the difference in where on the manifold the supercharger is mounted. hence the need for a shorter snout when used on the NGM manifold.
