I just installed LED strips in my front door speakers and in my rear speakers, it looks really good, but I'd like to make it so it looks like one beam of light, as opposed to a series of Led's in the door speakers it isn't as noticeable but in the rear ones you can really see all the led's and tell its an led strip, so I've read a few DIY's on here and noticed for the led conversion. To filter the hotspots they used frosted scotch tape, I'm guessing that would probably work but it'd be a pain in the *** to put 7-9 layers of tape of my led's also it would probably show at that point, so my main question is does anyone know of a better/easier way of making the solid beam of light look for my blue led's? Is there maybe a spray paint of some sort thats like a clear coat with a frosted finish?

They're 3528 SMD's,
Thanks everyone :)

how long were the led strips you installed by chance? im planning on doing this to mine but not sure if the 12" strips will go all the way around. Do they come on when you open your doors?

It depends how you wire them, I wired them to my window switch LED's so they turn on when I have my interior lights on, if you do it that way you have to wire it to these wires;

Drivers Side:
Black w/Red stripe = Positive
Black = Negative

Passengers Side:
Pink = Positive ( Thin one, there is 2, the thinner one is the one providing power)
Black = Negative

If you want them to come on only when uour door is open, you just have to wire them to the light at the bottom of the door.

I'm not quite sure of the length, but I can almost guarantee you 12" wont be enough to go right around, I bought a 15 ft roll of led's off ebay for 13$ and it was cuttable every 3 led's and I simply soldered new leads on the ends I cut, I just wrapped it around my speaker grill and cut it to size, didn't take any measurements.

Good luck :)

You might be able to slightly sand down the face of the l.e.d this would make the light spread out moreand possibly appear less single l.e.d and more of a neon light approach. This is all hypothetical.

I cant really do that because there is the waterproof coating over (similiar to hot glue gun glue) i can take it off but the lights wouldnt be waterproof and if its pooring out or something it could possibly fry it lol, I might just leave it as it is, it's not all that bad lol.

You may have just answered your own question there. Would it be feasible to run a bead of hot glue along the LEDs? This is also hypothetical.
