Yes i know it's gotta be my luck tonight.

As i was attempting to put my stereo back into place from removeing the center console i managed to drop not 1 but BOTH bolts holding my stereo up. The clamps from the stereo to the holes on the top right/left where the stereo sits.

They managed to slip down past where the ashtray is and fall downward far enough that i cant get my hand there.

Any suggestions as to how i can either

A) Get them back
or
B) Get replacements fast/easily?

Thanks

Pull out your passenger seat and remove the center console. This should allow you to get down into the bottom of the dash IIRC. It only takes about 20 minutes to do, as well.

It's really quite easy; like Vicious said, six screws, and you pry off the shift facia/boot with a tape-covered screwdriver. You don't actually have to remove the passenger seat, but it's easy and gives you a lot of work room.

You could just go buy screws like everyone else is saying, but personally I'd fetch the ones that fell in, lest they find somewhere annoying to bounce around and rattle.

BTW: If a girl can do a whole dash pull, you can do this ;)

pry the surround off the shifter. then two bolts there, and 6 along the sides of the center console. it pulls right up.

easy to find from there

^^^. Or if you have one of those extending skinny magnets that almost look like they come out of a pen.. That will work. Happened to me before, and I stuck it down there without messing anything up.

Hardware store by far simplest solution.
I often put a towel or rags down over areas so if I do drop something it lands in there and easy to find/retrieve. Tip for next time...

Don't waste your time trying to get them, go to the hardware store, measure the diameter of the hole on the stereo and take a package of screws that are a little bit smaller than the hole (the closest one).

These bolts have all a comon thread depending on their size (you are not in a fashion hardware section where you can have 3 different threads for one screw size), so it should cost you 2$-3$ and that's it!
