Well I believe it's about time for me to create my own member profile. I've been a member for a few years, but didn't to much posting at first I was always just reading and looking at everyone's ideas, mods, accomplishments, etc.

The purpose of the following pictures are for people to check out the NIA Rear Aprons close up on a FL2. When I first saw the prototype I thought it looked ugly as hell. Then the final product came out and they still didn't seem too attractive, I was hoping for them to look like the drawing of the FL2 that was presented to us.
Either way I decided to give them a shot and at first I still felt neutral about them, so then I got the idea of wrapping them in cf along with the diffuser and voilĂ . They've definitely grown on me and I'm beginning to love the look. Tried my best to give them some justice with some pictures maybe you guys will change your opinion of them like me. Here ya go:

And there's me in the reflection ;)

What a gorgeous car! This picture perfectly depicts how the rear aprons look in person. They look great on your car :) I can't wait to see what else you have in store...eventually ;)

#3 ·
Are you using photobucket or something similar that rezises your pictures?

Cause we are not even able to load them, and we don't see anything... they are just too big haha.

My browser's memory usage just shot up to 2.12GB's
HOLY HELL lol

But the car looks good, very clean and tasteful modding. But I can say those NIA rear splitters still fail to grow on me...

EDIT: Dropped back down to 300Mb after I left the page
EDIT2: Back up to 2.16GB returning to this page.

Here's those installed pictures you guys had requested ;)
I attempted to get some nice shots but it was snowing, and the lighting wasn't helping me much.

Then unfortunately my VVME HIDs took a **** and had to buy a new set. This time I went with DDM Tuning and I have to say that the quality in the kit seems much better and more durable.

Now that winter is coming around I figured that I might as well throw on my snow shoes on the Tib. I plasti-dipped the stockers this past weekend. Ill upload some photos soon.

OKAY, why is it that EVERYONE else has more luck with plastidip than I do? like come on those stock rims look HELLA nice with the black! I should know, mine were at one point black as well! Keep up the good work on the car man! One of the best looking FL/2's I've ever seen!

By far the ugliest Tib I have ever seen...jk Looks very clean and tasteful. I was expecting it to look something like that Batmobile (if it were a Tib). I want to say someone on here did something like that with a Matte Black finish.

#22 ·
Really nice Tib.. I like much. Nice pics as well. Good job on both.

Only thing. You need the NIA eyelids as well ;)

Yes there are ;)
Thanks for the compliments Shadow Blue.

Thank you, Ive been debating if I should get eyelids. I'm not fully convinced if I like NIA's

Haha Thanks and yea I've seen the matte black fl2 that you're talking about.

Dude clean tib! I am liking what you have done so far, very tasteful :)
Thanks man!

I hate the stockers, but then after I painted them black my opinion on them completely changed. They look pretty sick on my lowered setup with front splitter and Web Motorsports diffuser.
Ill post pictures soon.

Michigan weather called for winter mode, here's a few shots with the plasti-dipped wheels with the rugged winter tires I did a few weeks ago.

Finally ordered my switchbacks from DD on Black Friday and I just got around to installing them. They look so much better than the stock amber bulbs.

I also changed my licence plate bulbs with some SMD LED bulbs.
Ill upload picture soon.

Well I've made a few more modifications to the Tib along with maintenance. Thought I'd share what I've done and the upcoming modifications.

To start off I hit the 80k mark and I was due for replacing the timing belt, water pump, belts etc. Here's a list of what I changed...and I got my hands on a set of Ark light weight pulleys ;)

Replaced Items:
Timing Belt
Idler
Tensioner
Water Pump
AC Belt
Power Steering Belt
Alternator Belt
Replaced OEM Pulleys with Ark's Water, Crank, Power pulleys
OEM Spark Plugs with NGK IridiumIX

New Parts:
ARK Light Weight Pulleys
NIA Key Hole Covers

I was skeptical of changing the timing belt myself and everything I listed since I had never done it before on any car. But I did my research, watched multiple videos, checked to see if I had the correct parts, and just said **** it, lets do this! Here's a few shots I took along the process comparing the old with the new parts.

I bought the pulleys used on NT... unfortunately they had a few tiny dents, the person that installed them before me had no care in installing/removing them so I decided to sand them down a bit, get rid of some of the tiny dents, and painted them.

They came out looking great, a lot better than I expected. I went with a washed gold/champagne. Engine bay color scheme is in the works.

RockAuto is where its at!

They sent me an extra water pump...It was a mistake or something, I didn't get charged for it nor is it for the Tiburon. lol

Here's the NIA keyhole covers. I got them primed, did the painting and buffing myself.

The engine bay scheme that I plan on going with is gold, pearl black(oem paint), and white so I went ahead and also painted the battery cover and buffed the hell out of it.

Now for upcoming modifications. I'm waiting on a rare part that Web Motorsports hooked me up with...carbon fiber door pulls!!! I was very lucky to get in on the sale that they had on their Facebook page;) I'm also getting their solid motor mounts that they also announced on facebook. Lastly, I intend on getting their newest upcoming product, the 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum upper radiator support brackets.

Time to update the thread. I got around to installing some new parts now that this cold weather is finally leaving.

Ultra Racing Mid Chassis Bar

Web Motorsports Rear Solid Motor Mount

And the last part I got today is very rare! ;) Its the Web Motorsports Carbon Fiber Door Grips.
I believe they only made 4 sets.

What do you guys think?

I'm back with some more updates and more rare parts! :wink2: I finally got my hands on a Kspec AIRRAM thanks to Slow2k. My plans for this is to possibly get it polished or powder coated and make it look better than what it already does.

#38 ·
Nice, just very nice. Look forward to seeing what you do with it. Great looking ride you built there.

Pullies turned out nice too, what do you think of them post install?

#41 · (Edited)
Thanks! Regarding the pulleys I didn't really notice much of a difference. It's a little more responsive but not much of a gain.
The install was somewhat simple just in case you're thinking of finding a set, just did my research before and watched a few videos.

Nice, you've got some real unique stuff going on here. Looks really good down to every detail... are those "keyhole delete" covers still available? That AirRam is sweet too...
Thank you! And yes, it looks like NIA still has the covers available. http://niaautodesign.com/s_hyundai.html

Keep up the good work. With that new intake can we safely assume you are planning on some more engine mods? You know you want some go fast parts since you already have the look category taken care of.
Thanks man!! haha Yes you guys can safely assume. I was a bit more focused on looks more than performance but now I'm almost at the point where I'm happy with the way the Tib looks. I still want to pick up a Hana bumper though, and a different set of wheels.

Still trying to decide what my next mod will be...
