I just got home and it is super windy out well i open my door with a good grip and the wind riped the door out of my hand and sung it all the way open. I get out and pull it back and i hear all these bad creaks and **** but i get it closed. Now my door will not open because it keeps hitting the side panels which makes me super pissed because i have to climb in the passenger side to drive my car. I will be makeing an appointment for the autoshop to fix my door but i can feel it is going to cost a small fortune too fix. I guess next time i will park with the wind in my face and walk the extra 10 feet then part with the wind at my back and pay **** loads to get my door fixed.

I'm just wondering how much it will cost to get the door off and then have it re-hung because that is what will have to be done. I'm so mad right now because i have to look like an ass getting in the passenger side at school tomorrow till i get my car in the shop

I was going to say i gad that happen on my excel last winter. But I just looked at my bill i got it fixed the same time I had it in because the gas line froze, and it says no charge, I guess he felt sorry since I needed new spark plugs and wires, and a fuel filter and stuff from the water in my gas. The watery gas was from Beaver, just incase any one goes there.

damn sorry to hear about the damage...and I know that damaged caused through wind (what is called an act of god, i.e. lightening, floods, etc) is not usually covered by insurance liability (well not in the UK anyway!)

Hope you get it sorted soon.

Well the shop said it will cost around 900 bucks to get it fixed. I went to my insurance company and they just said ok we will set up the claim. They are going to do comp. Wind damage so i just have to pay deductuble which isn't bad. But it still sucks. need to have fender repaired & painted, door repaired & painted, and pillar hinge fixed and quarter panel refinished at the least. I will know more when my car gets in the shop, they are still trying to get everything setup

Ya to bad it will be in the shop for 3 to 4 days and i will have to drive a rental or my old crappy saturn SL1. I'm just glad that i'm friends with the insurance guy and the body shop guy so i can get stuff taken care of pretty quick.

unequal heating of the earth's surface, which creates pressure differentials, which in return makes wind :)

Damn... Yeah, the windy season in Central Texas is pretty much from August to July. We get some mad wind here. You always have to be careful opening your doors.
