Telescoping steering wheel

What's up NT
Because I am taller than average (6'2") I drive with the seat pushed all the way back and also leaned a bit back. Unfortunately that makes the steering wheel a mile a way which is still far for longer arms. If only the steering wheel was telescopic I would be perfectly comfortable, and driving experience would be a lot better. Does anyone know of a way to do this with the tiburon? Is there a model year that has one that can be changed out? Or are there aftermarket options? I think the benefit for me would be worth paying for. Thanks!

Off the top of my head, telescoping steering wheels are not common on any car brand or model. I would have to say you're looking at aftermarket or possibly a spacer of some sort.

Most Newer Hyundai's have them but they will most likely not be compatible with the Tiburon electronics.

You can try slotting the mounting brackets that hold up the steering column to get you maybe 1/2" of extra spacing.

Hmm. Yeah not sure all the work would be worth it for 1/2" but I may give that a shot. I couldn't justify spending $300 on aftermarket stuff on a 13yo car, plus losing airbag(which damn light is on anyway). I have been spending the last several months getting numerous things fixed and maintenanced so my tib is actually a pleasure to drive again. In the best shape it's been in since if had it the last 7 years.

I'm in the same boat, 6'3", I have my seat moved pretty far forward and leaned back a fair bit, my knees are bent pretty severely but it's the most comfortable position I was able to find for the tib. I've been seriously considering deleting the sunroof to reclaim some head room.

I didn't realize the non sunrooves have more headroom. I kind of slouch so the headroom isn't a big problem with me. But I am getting leak down through it which hits my amp in the quarter panel....tf. You have to take all the trim out just to reconnect the damn drains... thanks Hyundai. Need bite the bullet and do it.

Try cleaning the drains out using weedwhacker string first, likely just clogged.
