putting them in the back close to the subs doesn't make a lot of sense.... all your bass is back there and will baffle most of the vocals.... most likely making it sound muffled if you can hear them at all.... kick panels are great because it aims the sound towards you.... another option is getting a 3" mid driver and making it in the A-pillar.... facing more towards the glass to give you proper sound stage... if you look in my carbon fiber tibby thread in exterior i believe, i have pics of carbon fiber kick panels..... sound is amazing....
and it's enclosed so it really directs the sound towards the front seats

Mark would you consider making something like that and selling them? I saw them in your thread originally, which is kinda where I got the idea for a 3rd set of speakers
wouldnt necessarily have to be carbon fiber since I dont have anything else carbon fiber in my car if its easier made by another material

Just get a Nice set of GOOD component speakers for the Front AND Back. That will Distribute your Mid's and Highs better and allow better clarity at bigger out-put levels.

You ARE Amping the speakers, correct?

Stick with the 4. Hell, 4 is kinda too much as it is.Unless you get GOOD speakers the back ones do little anyway.

No need to waste money on a 3rd set of bad speakers that wont make a difference. Use it to buy better speakers and stick with 6.5 in the Front and 6x9 in the Rear.

Trust me, man. You'l be happier you did.

Also, do you have Subwoofers? If so, Turn down ALL the bass to the Speakers and let the Subs do the Lows. Thats what they are there for. This will put LESS stress on the speakers once you amp them and allow better Frequency and dB response. It also wont cut out the volume when the Bass hits due to the Cone in the speaker not moving as much.

Do work, man. But do it smart.

This is the best answer you have been provided. Audio should be balanced, mainly coming from the front, with the rears providing "ambiance" or "rear fill" Using better quality speakers will make a big difference. Thre is a big difference between a $100 set of pioneer 6.5's and a $350 set of Boston Acoustics or Focals. Our door speakers, especially the tweeters are junk.

There are solutions to more speakers, be prepared to do alot of custom work to the doors and door panels.

They will hold a pair of 6's. It will take a pro to do it properly, someone who can fabricate and use fibreglass and vinyl or wood and bondo.

Instead of spending more money, buying more speakers and paying to fab up something, buy high quality, and proper use of cross overs for each speaker.

Kick panels are an option, just with our cars, the option is poor, not in the proper location for good staging, and space is limited as it is.

I plan on replacing all the speakers anyways but I like doing custom work, makes my car different from others and gives me something to do
