I agree....

But in all seriousness. Talk of an Upgraded amp for such a basic system is un-needed and stupid.

I'm currently running a system with 150w RMS to each SPEAKER and over 500w rms to Each sub...I have 4 car speakers and 2 Subs.

So let's do some math here.... Actually, no. Mine stronger. And i'm running off the Stock Alt. even after 60k miles.

All i did was buy a $60 Walmart Deep Cycle Marine Battery. Its a beast. And i'm fine.

No dimming lights, nothing. Because it's obviously not constantly drawing.

Upgrading the alt = useless for him.

On another note, Get a Stronger amp. Like the one i sent you.

Think of it like an engine almost. Could you rather have a strong engine be under-powered or a Weak engine pushing to much? Simple as that.

That's why they make Adjustable Gain for Amps. Turn it the F*CK down.

Also, i mentioned in my PM to you, use a 4qauge cable. Save yourself the hassle of ever having to run another Power Cable.

People in this thread need to learn to pin-point relevant information and not spray useless sh*t out there @$$ that will just confuse him. If you don't know what your talking about OR do not know how to explain useful information in a sense that a noob (no offense to OP) can understand, then please do not chime in.

it just throws everything off topic and is annoying for people like myself and JGresch to correct when the thought (right or wrong) is already out there.
Yah if you use a high quality subwoofer you can run more power as they are usually underated, just like quality amps. Normally you want to be close to the RMS power rating, if you go any higher on a cheap subwoofer you'll risk burning out the voicecoil because it's going to get too hot . Running slightly less power you have less chance of burning the coil as you're creating less heat, you just give up that extra spl (or push).

The only problem you will get from running a slightly smaller amp is if you set your gain too high when you cut off your window to where you get distortion. You can spend more money on a higher wattage amp and turn gain back lower than normal and be fine, this just gives you a larger window. You just have to keep the gain low as if you have it too high it will fry your coils.
