I guess its time that i made one of these. Here is the most recent pic of my tib:
and here is what I started with:
gross huh? you havent seen anything yet.lol
A little bit of background, Im an Art student at GSU and when my summer vacation plas fell through I decided that I would use the money that I would have spent on something cool like project car.
The most auto experience I had at the time I purchased the car was an oil change and replacing lightbulbs but I was set on the idea of having a project car.
I was looking for something for $1k or less that needed up to $2000 in repairs that I felt like I could handle.
So initially it was between a beat up acura CL-S, a Legend Coupe, a 3000gt (love em) and this:
very rough but I was vaguely familiar with the car and all I saw was how it'd look when I was done.
These are some of the pictures from the first days when I got the tib home and cleaned out all the previous owners ****.
this is how I closed the windows when I first got it.lol
(testing my new center console, actually after the first time I vaccumed it out.lol)
Here is a short list of things that the car needed after my first assesment:
New fenders, hood and bumper
new carpet, new seats, new console
new shift knob, new brake cables, new ashtray
new power steering components, new A/C components
new clutch & Flywheel (was told the stock flywheel was starting to go bad)
new wheels & tires
new gas cap and exterior door handles
new interior door handles & a driver door cable
new window motors and door panels
a headlight restoration
a gallon of bleach (to kill the bugs living under the carpet... yeah)
At the time my DD was very reliable, so I used my days off to get all the parts needed,
often traveling to different states to get a good deal.
Here is an abridged account of my progress after getting all of the parts I needed.
from korea
