I was under the impression that the headlights from the 03-04 were a direct swap with the 05-06. As far as fitment goes they are, but the wiring harness is not. A rookie mistake on my end not checking first. I have seen so many people do it so I just figured it wasn't an issue!

My question is: what is the best way to go about doing the swap? Should I just purchase the adapter off of shark racing? Does that come with directions? Or should I just splice them in myself?

Thanks in advance :)

You can swap the harness inside the headlight, but I'm not sure if you can do that without separating the new headlights.

I went to the junk yard & cut the connectors off a tib that had the facelifted headlights & used sealing crimps to replace my connectors.

The new connectors only use 4 wires, but it's fine. The extra wires in our harness were redundant.

You can. It's a little tricky, I recall using probably thin needle-nose pliers or something like that, but i've swapped harnesses without cutting or removing anything.
