NewTibOwner2011's 2007 Carbon Grey GS Tiburon
NT Quebec Crew!

Hi Everyone!

I am new here, and very happy to own a 2007 Tiburon! I love that car so much!

Before this one, I had a 2005 Pontiac Wave, I can tell you, there is a very big difference between these 2 cars! In July 2011, I decided to sell my Wave and buy a Tiburon.

This is my previous car! And the only mod I've done to it (front grills!)

Image

Image

At the beginning I want something between 5000$ and 7000$. I was seeking for a 2003 to 2005 Tiburon with arround 100 000 km (60 000miles, yeah, I live in Québec, sorry for french dollar notation and units!)

But when I saw this 2007 GS Tiburon with 78 000 km (49 000 miles), I fell in love. I love the color, I love the mags (I had rims with my Wave), I got the A/C (my Wave didn't), the sun roof, everything that I wanted! The only thing that I wish I could have different is the rear spoiler. We'll se if I have enough money later to buy a better one!

I'll leave some pictures of my car at the end of this post.

My mods are listed in me signature!

When my car was stock!

Lol you're a funny man. Those gold mesh inserts look good though, good idea!
Thanks!

I saw in the previous car show thread that you have modified your interior a lot since the last meet (like 4 days ago...!), I really want to see that!

I am sad that I was away for that show, I really really want to meet all of you guys, so, for sure before the end of the summer we will do something!

Yeah I really like the color of my car! I think it is the best color for a F/L2 tib!

But I do admit that a rally red tib like yours (GK27GT, Lessaj, etc), is a really sexy color for a tib with the F/L bumper! Really like your lip also!

Newtib Nice pics sounds like alot of fun
Lot of fun... :bigdistur HELL YEAH!

Thanks! They are not as bright as you can see on the picture. So they are not disturbing at all, it is just a smooth light in the cup holder and it flows well with the whole interior!

And also, everything is more even than it looks!

you should do a mini DIY for those who would want to do something like that.

Yeah, I tought about it a little bit too late, and I don't have a lot of pictures... But I can try to make something and draw some diagram to fit the missing pictures!

As soon as I finish doing 60-70 hours week at job, I will think about that!

Haha I am glad to see we are on the same page for colours lol. Rally red few, but I love the carbon grey on the FL2s lol. And as for missing out on the show.. it's ok, we can plan something else this summer. Maybe we can host something a bit slightly closer to Quebec lol so you don't have to drive as far lol. I like the job you did with the LEDs there, it inspires me to do much the same lol. Question though, how did you got about hooking them up and making them work?

I have wired them to the cigar lighter LED! It was very very simple! As said above, I will try to make a DIY of that! I will let you know when it is done!

And yes! A meet would be really nice, and, if more people would be able to come if it is closer to Toronto (or everywhere closer for anybody), I will still be down to go there!

We'll discuss about that a little later!

What progress !! Holy **** very nice, was looking at your painted gas cap blending with the rims, beautiful.

If it wasnt such a pain in the *** I'd say pull your tail lights, paint the silver rings gold if at all possible, maybe would look good I think.

Keep up the good work!!!!

Thanks a lot!

As for the tail lights rings, it might look good, but I am afraid that it would ruin the overall look of the car. It might be just too much. So I am not going to do those. But, I will be soon doing a mesh grill on the front bumper, and this one will be painted gold, and I will paint the surround area black (same as a DIY on here)

I will post pictures when it is done!!

It is not even a spoiler... I really don't know if this is a custom part, or if it has been made for the tiburon..! All I know is that it is installed with double sided tape... But still, as I said, I think it flows well with the car.

And also, because I am the only one to have this, it makes my car even more unique! :3_nosthum

Re: Justin's 2007 2.0L GS Tiburon WIP

Last saturday I when to my father's house and we painted in black the front grill of my bumper and we added a mesh grill that was painted gold to match my wheels and other accents! Here are some pictures!

The car looks sooo poor without the bumper...:(

Image

THe bumper removed!

Image

THe final result! Gonna have better pictures soon, I didn't have time to wash the car and it was full of bugs! Also, it is going to rain in the next days, so I'll wash it when the sun will be back! But we can see the difference! I really like it!

Re: Justin's 2007 2.0L GS Tiburon WIP

very unique, flow well with your wheels
Thanks!

You're right, I think it brings a little something and also add a little detail to my color theme!

Was a cheap mod (0$, my father has already the paint and we found some mesh grill that was big enough to fit there), and it adds a lot to the exterior without beking too much.

Don't need to think about a Hana bumper anymore haha!

Re: Justin's 2007 2.0L GS Tiburon WIP

Here it is guys!! Raceland coilovers installed!!

Here is the spec as per my neighbor (which is my mechanics also, in which I trust a lot)

3.5 inch drop (or around) front and rear
Stands at 4.5 inch from the ground in front, 5 inch in the back (reminder that speed bumps here are *legally* at 4 inch, so I am more than close to them)
1 to 1.5 degree of camber in the back.

Just waiting a week or 2 and then will install some adaptes/spacers!

He also recommanded me to buy a strut bar since the coilovers are very stiff. So they are in the plan too!7

Here how it is standing right now!!

Car looks awesome man. Love how low it is!
Favorite Part is the rims. The color is insane. Makes a big difference. The matching gas cover and that front grill insert were great ideas. Keep it up.

Re: Justin's 2007 2.0L GS Tiburon WIP

id really like to know how you afforded all of this -.-

it sucks to be in highschool with all of these aspirations..
my tib is hardly worth it too. 08 auto i4 /: (speaking for myself)
How I can afford this?

Simple: I don't do any kind of drugs. I don't smoke. I don't drink beer or any kind of alcohol at home. I don't really like to go out in bars and stuff like that. I also look at all the specials when it comes to buy food (I have plenty of it, it's just that I look around and buy in big quantity when everything is in sale. I am not buying anything useless, etc.

So all that money is put on the side and it used to buy some stuff for my car.

I know that I am lucky to have a great job that pays well. If I was not paying attention to all the things that I am buying, I would not be able to afford it.

also, id like to chime in on the Cupholder DiY project... thats awesome! need a tutorial video or something for sure
I might take some time someday to do a DIY.
