This is the other problem, some people have the issue some, like you, don't have any issues at all. The firmware is fully updated as of a month ago, unless they've come out with something new.

This is a sick build! Looking forward to going F/I in the distant future.

Thanks

So just an update, ordered an ecu today so I'm going to replace that and see if it fixes my problem and if not I've been talking to TC over at NGM and he's going to help me with one of his re-flash tunes. So we shall see what happens.

Nice setup!!! I hope you figure everything out and get it running right. The most frustrating parts of modding are the problems you don't forsee, but getting through those obstacles provide the greatest reward and give you that sense of accomplishment!!!

Not sure yet I did coilovers and it needs an alignment so I didn't drive it yesterday. I'm going in at noon to get that done so we shall see today if this worked or if I need to try something else.

I did my coils like 2 months ago and I still haven't gotten an alignment LOL. Been busy and lazy.

Nice.... mine was bad and needed to get done.

Well it's getting close to 100 miles since the ecu change, running good so let's hope it keeps up.
Good luck buddy...hope all the hard work pays off...but then again frustration and stress usually come with the territory of boosting a tiburon.

Have you datalogged with the FIC ? Are you sure it shows your TPS signal staying at zero when you slightly push the throttle ?

Before going Hydra, i had the same issue as yours, but only after decelerating from high rpms. If i released the pedal when the car was at high rpms, then slightly pushed it after that, the car would choke for a second or two, AFR would go super lean, then would run fine again a few seconds later, or if i pushed the pedal more. It did it with MAFterburner, MAPECU and FIC. All the while, TPS signal was fine, i was logging constantly. So it was not TPS related. And just like you, after an ECU reset, everything was fine, for some time. NGM reflash didn't change anything about that issue. I installed the Hydra and modified nothing else, and that issue has never been there since that.

So i don't have any clue, sorry for that, but my advice is not to throw more money in useless things (other piggyback, reflash) and start saving for the only good tuning solution : Hydra EMS.

As for the datalogging I was using a snapon scantool so I could watch the signals while I was driving and when I was having the problems it would show the throttle percentage as 0 when I was in partial throttle crusing. It's just getting so frusterating trying to deal with this. And i'm not going with the reflash idea anymore, it will be the hydra, i'm just trying to find a fix till I can come up with the funding for it.

You need to get logging with the FIC working so you can see what is going on. Tuning is a pain in the *** and takes a lot of time to get right. Tuning while boosted is the easy part, the hard part is tuning out of boost when the ECU is trying to correct things with the narrow band AFR sensors. The FIC logging isn't very good, zeitronix is much nicer.

I still don't think the issue is your TPS. I think that's distracting you. If the TPS was bad it wouldn't change with resetting the ECU. I think the issue is related to how you have the intake system set up. I can't really tell from the pics how everything is working, but it looks like you have the MAF deleted, you have a MAP sensor plugged into the blower itself - I'm not sure what else that sensor would be plugged into the blower? And are you venting to the atmosphere with the BOV or recirculating it? If that sensor is indeed a MAP sensor it can't be plugged into the blower. The only time it would give you a correct reading is at WOT. It needs to be placed after that throttle plate.

Hope you get things figured out!

Been a while since I updated this so here goes... Still having the hesitation issue, still can't figure it out. I've been emailing quite a few people and talking to the shop that did the tuning. The shop still thinks that it's a communication issue between the ECU and the FIC. I think it's an issue with the tune but they don't want to hear that because that would mean re-tuning the car for free. The FIC was tuned off the internal MAP sensor that's drawing vacuum from the back of the manifold. The sensor that's plugged into the blower is the boost sensor not the MAP sensor. So if anyone wants to help me out and take a look at the fic map, and see if they spot something wrong just PM on here and I'll send it to you.

I believe the drivability issues with the RIPP mods set up have been addressed in old posts. you need to revisit these. I remember the guys you had it figured out had a recirculating BOV because when you are off throttle and venting the maf is reading that air and adjusting, but cont being consumed by the engine. I dont know if that is 100% correct but that is what I remember from years ago.

BOOM!!! goes the supercharger....... melted the bearings and cracked the internal oil housing after 10hrs on the road from Colorado to Washington State. Vortechs do not do well at 80mph for 10 straight hours. Good thing it's an easy system to bypass. Now comes the big decision, send it back to Vortech and get it rebuilt ($370+shipping) and keep trying to fix my hesitation issues or go a different route. I think I narrowed my problems down to the tune on the FIC, talked to a lot of people on here and elsewhere that are running the FIC and showed them the maps from it and the consensus is a bad tune. But I still don't know if that will fix the problem. I'm headed out today to talk turbos with the performance shop here in Spokane, talked to him a little bit Sat. and he's got some good ideas and a lot of experience. So I might be going turbo instead who knows. For right now though I pulled the Vortech and put stock injectors back in and bypassed the FIC so I'll keep it like this for a while till I figure out exactly what I'm going to do.
