I'm just wondering, what was the first day GK Tibs were produced?

I wonder this because the other day when I installed the metallic foot rest in my dad's carbon blue I4 that it was manufactured November 13th 2001. I never knew they were manufactured in '01, considering it's an '03 model. Interesting thing is that my dad's car is in absolute perfect shape- no rust, dings, weird engine noises, nothing (minus fogged up headlights).

Yea, mine's March 12, 2002. I'll be buying her a present that day - car paid off or not (which it won't be).

Lol, mine and Mo's car share the same birthday... 3/26/02. Mine was purchased in May 2002.

I'm pretty sure they were officially released for sale by hyundai in March 2002, but I believe production started in September 2001.

I knew a guy that actually had a real tuscani imported to jacksonville in late 2001 as a 2002 tuscani. It was an elisa because he had the hands-free phone setup, passenger side cupholder, power folding mirrors and everything. His car was produced in September 2001 and he mentioned it being one of the first off the assembly line.

Oh it was. He sunk about $20,000 into it and made it a full on show car which won several awards in 2002 and a few more in the following years. It was an alpine stage 2 s/c'ed V6 with a 250NX shot. Custom large flake paint job, I forget which bodykit, chrome OEM headlights which were factory equipped. The interior was done up in suede, recaros, momo wheel, lots of tv's, 2 12's....it was a nice car.

I lost touch from AC, the owner, and found the car in a buy here pay here lot about 3 years ago totally stripped down, stock replacement engine, cheap blue paint job which was chipping, and mustang seats. Shame.

It probably is October for worldwide distribution. I thought my friend said september, but it may have been october. I think september is when he placed the order and the car was made the next month.

Just throwing this in:

Some differences I've noticed between the early production 03's (10/01-07/02?) and the 03+'s (08/02+)

Early production features:

Trunk light is horizontal, 03+'s are vertical
Infinity sub box carpet has a lip around the top edge, 03+'s have no lip
VIN plate on dashboard is copper colored, 03+'s are black with wavelike indentations
Manufacturer plate is metal and riveted to the door, 03+'s are labels adhered to the door sill
