Havent got any updates yet. I got the evo 5 tranny and all needed parts, just got an issue with a motor on my civic, and it was my daily driver, Im replacing a block. For now I have to drive Tiburon, so I cant do anything with it until I get civic back up and running, stay tuned. Couple weeks ago I picked up a motor mount off 04 Gallant, it offsets pass side motor mount back to the center, like on beta 2, will help with the build. You guys wont believe how bad I want that engine in my tib with a nice turbo sound, oh man.....

While working on the block, I been doing some more digging considering all wheel drive feature, as I posted earlier regarding Tucson cross member fitment, unfortunately by looking at Tucson schematics it will not fit. However I started searching online different cars cross members and by looking at the set up I see Subaru's WRX Cross member, support beams etc match the same design as tiburons, now its obviously that the cross member wont be direct fit with ought drilling out new holes and offsetting the sides with some sort of spacers, it looks its possible to make it work with small mods to the cross member.

And here is our tiburons cross member set up.... they look so similar......

So my plan for now is mounting the engine, get whole wrx cross member parts, and get a straight axel for real wheel drive and bolting all this on, and afterwards I will see what can be done with the fuel tank....

I really hope the wrx rear end will work for you. An awd tib would be maaaad! If this works I would probably do this do my elantra and swap in a 4g63T.

Great job dude, really! II thought of such a thing (with a 22B or an A5 engine - to keep the V6) earlier but lot of people told me it would be an impossible or too expensive projetc, but you seem to do it well. I long to see the rest of it! :D

Hi

I'm new on this forum
and I also want to do a awd Tiburon swap.
I also had ideas but this post make sence.
indeed the Subaru rear subframe almost derectly bolt on.
I want to do this to a 2008 Tiburon.
maybe we can help each other out?
my plan is take the whole front subframe and engine transmission out of an old wrecked evo
buy a Subaru rear subftrame. I'm also going to use chassis rails to make the car stiffer.
then get a custom driveshaft.
oh also one thing. the Subaru impresa feul tank will also almost bolt on.

Yeah, I would love to team up for this project, more help, the easier it gets, what state do you live in because Im in Florida? What motor are you planning on using? Because you will need AWD transmission based on the motor you will use. Do you have tools?

I been working on cosmetics lately with my Tiburon, ordered new bumper and carbon fiber hood from AIT racing, and added my DGR Coilovers to lower the car, don't have space in garage to tare Tiburon apart just yet, putting my truck back together in mean time too, as for now, Im thinking of adding a 10 inch screen where SRS air bag is on the dash, taking the air bag out and making a hole for a flush mount TFT screen and hooking it up to a Rasbery pi 3, not sure yet if I will but its a thought.

Also, once I get my tax return money, Im dumping it on some nice Bride Seats, with Carbon fiber backing.

And I picked up in perfect shape drivers side door for 60 bucks, its black so I have to repaint it, to replace my damaged one.

So basically speaking once I bolt up frame for my tuck back together I will get very serious about the Tiburon swap, I had truck sitting torn apart for 4 years now, want to get that fixed up first, no sense having 2 cars torn to pieces at the same time, and I should be done with the truck by the end of April for sure, Im in process of paining the frame with KBS Coatings.

Ive got 02 Subaru Impreza at the junk yard, going to take a look at it and see if the fuel tank looks promising or not. Might pull the rear cross member set up too. Its got an engine that caught on fire, what a shame.

Cool! This is really amazing. Good work
