Does the ssa exhaust header combo really sound like sh1t? If these headers have already been passed around twice, it makes me worried. But I guess its worth it if theres performance gains...anyone have a sound clip of what it sounds like??
no no...matt got rid of them because he put his car back to stock....i'm getting rid of them because i got rear ended and have to pay the deductable... plus i plan on getting the turbo kit when i get the money...and since the turbo has it's own "turbo manifolds" i won't need them. They performgreat and there is nothing at all wrong with them.

The headers bolt to the engine....and to the exhaust (the one you just put in) now normally headers replace the stock catalytic converter with a hollow pipe(race pipe), which gives better power (by a bit) but is slightly louder. So Matt, who had these headers before me and worked at a nursing home (or something) and needed the exahaust a bit quiter had the sock cat. modified to so it could be bolted in instead of the race pipe.(Because usually the stock cat is permantly connected to the stock headers)

So with Intake/ Exhaust/ Headers you should easily be able to make it in the 14s, or around 175whp

So no, you don't take off the exhaust you just got...the 3 things work together to make good gains...these are normally the first three things you get when modding a car....
Ok you are right I was under the impression you were selling her new headers not my old ones I sold to you. However you keep confusing jen on what she is getting so let me add my .02 to aid.

Ian is selling the NGM SSA headers but without the 3" racing pipe that NGM originally included. Instead of that pipe you will be getting a modified-to-fit stock catylitic converter. The original intent for putting a cat on the exhaust was to silence the exhaust note and make it quieter. In my application it eliminated that ricey rasp you get when you add headers, a benefit in your case.

There is nothing wrong with the headers or the use of the modified cat. As it stands I am still the fastest N/A tib of the group and it was done with that setup. To answer Jens question no you will not have to modify your exhaust in any way or put your stock exhaust back on it will link up to the headers perfectly. Enjoy Beer -> :3_bier:

I was trying to say that I also have the pipe the headers come with, I got it from Kyle because he didn't need it.So you can have both if you want, that way you can decide which one you like better. If you only want it the way Matt had it though, then I think Patrick would like to have the extra race pipe.(The one I got from Kyle)

And yes Geek Little Puto Chris and I will help you install. I'll make him do it. seeing as he has to go where i say cause i'm his ride. lol And Friday is fine....

04tibiinaz has graciously offered to help as well, my boyfriend is also helping (cuz he just has to :) My house sucks cuz I have no tools...we could all go to my father inlaws (he's got a narly set of tools)...sorry, fasttimes at ridgemont high reference. .....he lives in gilbert...unless anyone else has room.? I was wanting to get it in this weekend? Any ideas?
 
ummmm on weekends chris and i work all day so we can do it at night but it will take a couple hours....like 6 a least if we work staight through without goofing around to much....tuesdays and thursdays are better for us....cause we get outta school at 430

I only wanted it to use along side my pipe with the CC insert in it. Then I would have 2, one for race days, one for everyday driving. But then I just f-in destroyed that CC insert cuz it killed any power gains made by the cams. So now I just have a straight 2 1/4 pipe instead of a race cat, so I don't need it anymore. Thanks though.
