Sobiech's Black Tiburon '04 2.0 | Europe / PL | 18", custom HL, pic heavy : )

Let me introduce you my "black Aston" ;)

It's 2.0 litre i4 with 35k mileage right now. I own it since december 2013 but earlier it belonged to my brother who imported the Tib from California in 2007. Who knows - maybe it was on NT already ;)

It had some special marks like the exhaust:
I can't recognize who manufactured it but it sounds pretty nice... and loud.

Here's a list of modifications I did:

Exterior
________________________________________________________
- Shorty antenna
- Darkened rear fog lights
- Rear wiper shaved
- Spoiler and rear diffuser carbon wrapped
- LED lightning below the door
- Philips Bluevision Ultra Xenon effect light bulbs for headlights (HIDs are illegal ;( )
- Brake calipers painted orange
- Orange stripe on side mirrors
- Clear cornered headlights
- Angel Eyes
- Heated side mirrors
- New bonnet + front emblem shaved
- 18" Tomason TN9 + 225x40x18 Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta XL
- Matte black paint on wiper arms
- Back to OEM exhaust
- Another new 18" Tomason TN9 wheel to replace my broken one/front left.
- Deamber / red taillights
- High rise OEM spoiler
- Polished headlights

Interior:
________________________________________________________
- Added multigauges (carbon panel)
- Ignition bezel with T logo
- My design carbon mission plates
- Tiburon logo on doors
- Orange rearview mirror
- LED footwell front and back
- LED lightning in a trunk
- OEM Aluminium pedals
- Leather shift boot with orange stitching
- Orange stripe on the back of seats

Audio
________________________________________________________
- Soundproofed doors
- Soundproofed trunk floor
- BOSE subwoofer
- BOSE amp
- Alpine 170RM Head unit

Engine
________________________________________________________
- CAI Simota Airbox with custom orange pipes

My 'to do' list is pretty long, starting with cracked front bumper and poor paintjob on the hood.
Also hope to see new rims before summer, we'll see.... :)

Any opinions / suggestions? Please feel free to discuss. :)
Greets !

Love the pictures! Carbon fiber looks really clean and well done. Exhaust sounds lovely on startup and idle, but a little to raspy for my taste when reved.

Rims are a good mod :) I'm selling some chrome 18" rims if your interested.

Other than rims, and ride height its looking pretty clean! Have you looked at getting FL headlights? They look so good and add a new feel to your car. Also headlight eyeliners add a aggressive look (you can make them yourself too)

Really like that picture in the woods, look's like a good promotion photo :D

Interior looks good also, but one thing I noticed - seems like you have a small knick on the corner of your front bumper there. I'd get that done as soon as money allows it. Nothing I dislike more than chipped or scratched paint.. and it's so expensive to fix too :(
EDIT: Nevermind... it's not a damaged paint job it's the reflection of your legs and feet ahahaha

Agree with matix, look into getting some plasti dip for the eyeliner for your headlights, would look SHWEET

Thanks guys :)

I'm searching and collecting some cash for the rims+tyres.
My top 3 are 5zigen 527, XXR 530 and Rota G-Force.
Graphite / Gray / dark silver 17" would be perfect.
for e.g. look here http://www.newtiburon.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3918416&postcount=366 (silver Tib by Bluerd2)

FL headlights are good! but their price isn't so ....
I planned few mods to my headlights and save money for other more important mods.

I'm going with black/orange palette with my Tib I do not want to clean completely my corners.
I came up with an idea to use a dremel and cut the orange plastic inside and leave a small piece of it like in FL headlights.

Since the headlights need to be open I decided to put angel eyes too.
And polish the glass to get fully clean look.

After that I will think about badlook eyeliners but for now I must say they're not in my taste ;)

*For any language mistakes - sorry ;)

Nice, love the carbon details. Could you take a picture of the entire rear? I would love to see how that looks so I can steal the idea. :p

Some suggestions (I read too fast over your previous post, some are on your TODO list already):
- If your car has a Immobilizer remove that metal ring around your ignition NOW. It messed up my BCM on my previous Tib.
- Rims are a great idea, but expensive and you'll probably need a drop as well. Maybe paint or plasti-dip them for now?
- Removing the amber turn signals inside the front headlights is also a cheap (but hard) mod that makes a big difference. While they are open, put some CCFL angel eyes in there.

Your car reminds me of my previous Tib in the beginning. Maybe you can get some inspiration from it:

Metal ring around ignition is not metal ;) It's an aluminium-like sticker. But thanks for the warning!

Rims are a must have despite the costs. I will leave these for my winter set and maybe refresh their look with a new paint (but still silver).

Clear corners will be done within a month but I'm confused now - CCFL or SMD rings?
Most people recommend SMD... ;)

The only extra shot I found with carbon finished is this

If you want some details tell me, I can shot something in few minutes. If that's ok for now please wait for some proper photoshoot ;)

I'll be able to wait for the proper photoshoot, but it better be good!
Well here it is!
As you can see I added some details to my "orange project".
Now it's noticeable - brake calipers, rearview mirror, side mirrors, and orange indicators. :)

Hope you like it!

PS. Angel Eyes CCFL ordered from ebay, but delivery is approx. december ... :|

I will do my best :D
That's kind a motivation I must thank you for. I promised so I must hurry before first snow.......

Do not know anything about rings but even glow sounds perfect.
I definitely do not want to see separate diodes - I am looking for a lightning stripe, like a Jedi sword :D

Yours looks cool too!
So.... CCFL? :)

Soo... I've touched thing or two this week - As my b-day gift I baked my headlights ;)

Cooking, clear-cornering, CCFL angel eyes and painting to be precise. :)

Here are the effects.

I wanted to get as close as possible to FL lights, so I cut my orange plastics to the FL shape (so it fit my black+orange concept), painted the lamp with satin/matte black and installed AE. Whole operation took 3 evenings and it was SOOOOO worth it!
I love the outcome, hope you like it too :)

Polishing the lights to get crystal clear effect is scheduled to early spring, after the anti-snow salt and sand does its thing :/ .

Yup, rear foglights had to be mounted right after the car was imported.

Recently I ... got a wife. ;)

We decided to use our Tiburon as our wedding - car so I had to make some modifications.

First I bought new hood/bonnet because my previous one had damaged paint really badly.
Painting allowed me to shave the emblem to get cleaner front-look.

Secondly I refreshed my poor wiper-arms (?) with matte black paint so it fit my brand new hood :)

Finally - I bought new wheels!
18" Tomason TN9 8,5j wide are the chosen one. I fitted new set of Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta XL 225/40/18 it looks awesome. Un/fortunately wheels look a bit worse on shots than real life but still much better than Hyundai 16". On stock suspension it rubs slightly only with full trunk + bigger pothole.

Here are some action shots.
Expect some serious photoshoot soon ;)

Thanks man! I really appreciate your opinion (watching your thread <3 )!

New toys landed in my car.
I wanted to tune up my audio system a bit and cause I was short on money and wanted to keep all my luggage space....
I decided to go with Mazda 6 OEM subwoofer made by BOSE.

It fits spare tyre and sounds really nice for it's price (bought sub + amp for ~50 dollars.) Soundproofing the trunk was a bulls-eye and now it sounds even better!

Unfortunately my crappy headunit LG has only one output so I had to buy a new one to connect the sub. The choice was obvious - maximum sound settings to perfectly configure low, mid and high frequencies for the clearest sound. Alpine.
(I am a fan of rock/alternative concerts so killing my ears with looow bass wasn't the thing)
To help my OEM speakers (which will be replaced within few months) I soundproofed doors. And again it was a brillant idea - no more plastic squeaking! ;)

I know it's not "high end" but for low budget project I couldn't do anything better. Soundproofing both sides and trunk + sub + amp + head unit finished below 250$ and it was reallly well spent money.
